How to Say "I Love Yous" in Spanish (and fifty+ Other Romantic Phrases)

The Spanish language and culture are rich in passionate language and ways to limited amore. Only what'southward the best way to tell someone "I honey you" in Spanish?

After all, in English language, we tend to overuse the word "love". We love this show, and we love that book. We love our parents, our kids and our spouse. We beloved our friends, we love our jobs.

And even though all of those forms of "love" are different, they're expressed with the same discussion: "love".

In Spanish, that's non the instance.

You have many options for expressing your affection! In fact, information technology's one of the things I like about Spanish that English language is missing. You tin can concisely share your like, love or even enchantment in Castilian, using different expressions.

How to Say "I Love You" in Spanish

Equally I mentioned above, how to say "I honey y'all" in Spanish depends on the context, situation and what or who yous're talking about. Most people have learned that te amo means "I love you" in Spanish, and it does. But this is a very serious, deep love. It'southward used mostly between spouses and when announcing your love, such as while proposing.

Another way to say "I love you" is te quiero. Here's where those degrees of affection come in. It literally means, "I want you," but that's a poor translation, in my opinion. This phrase doesn't quite translate at all in English, considering nosotros have no equivalent at that degree. To say "I want you" in English has a brawny sound to it, and not very romantic. But in Spanish, a meliorate translation is "I want you in my life." It'south a step down from te amo, and normally said when you're in a committed relationship, but not necessarily married (or at least, non all the same).

And with both phrases, y'all can make them more passionate by adding mucho ("very much"). Te amo mucho or te quiero mucho both mean "I love you very much."

A less directly way to limited your love is to say Significas mucho para mí. This ways "You hateful so much to me."

Here are a couple more ways to express romantic affection:

  • Me gustas: "I like you". The play-it-safe approach to expressing your amore in those early days of dating.
  • Me caes bien: Besides "I like yous". It'south a step down from me gustas, and more than friendly.
  • Me encantas: "I admire yous" or "You enchant me". It's more romantic than me gustas and me caes bien, but it's less serious than te quiero.

What about talking to family unit or friends? Usually, te quiero is for that kind of platonic honey, or even affection for your pets. And if you're wondering, "beloved" for things like objects or hobbies would be either me gusta ("I similar") or me encanta ("I'1000 enchanted by", "I strongly like").

How to Say "Beautiful" in Spanish

In Spanish, there are a quite a few ways you tin can talk about someone's beauty or bewitchery. To say "beautiful" in Spanish, information technology'south hermosa or hermoso. This is the strongest way to say "beautiful" and it's similar to "striking" or "gorgeous". Because hermosa is then strong, it's more common to use bella or bello ("beautiful" or "lovely"), though. To just say "beauty" equally a noun, it's belleza.

To call someone "pretty", yous apply bonita or bonito. This is more casual, almost like saying "You look overnice" instead of "Yous expect beautiful". Information technology's still a prissy compliment, though, and tin can be used to talk about anything.

And to say someone is "handsome" or "bonny", you say guapo or guapa. It's more common to hear women called bonita, and men guapo. Simply, unlike English, these terms aren't gender exclusive. Sometimes guapo is also used to say someone or something is "cool".

In Latin America, it's most mutual to depict someone'south beauty as linda or lindo, which means "lovely".

Information technology means y'all're horny, not "hot/sexy". Instead, you can use the slang term maciza or macizo, which means "hot" in the same sense as English.
